I'd never seen an osteopath, or had any kind of physio before, but was suffering with a painful knee, due to running. A couple of sessions with Sarah and then diligently following her stretching and strengthening exercises, had me back out in no time. Clare McIntyre, amateur runner and cake enthusiast.

I completed the Cape Wrath Ultra race on Sunday 30th May in 18th place out of 59 finishers (from 95 starters) with a total cumulative running time of 62 hours 23 min 43 sec spread over the 8 days. It was an amazing adventure shared with a truly wonderful bunch of people - both my fellow competitors and the support crew. The weather certainly helped and it was warm and sunny throughout with hardly any rain apart from the first day. The event organisation was top class as was the route with a challenging mix of terrain requiring some precise navigation in places. The important thing was that apart from some inevitable skin damage to my feet (which I was able to deal with using blister plasters and taping) my body held up to the challenge with no issues.  Despite the overnight aches and muscle soreness I had no problems when running and I felt my legs were getting stronger each day – in fact over last 4 days I was moving up the field and I reckon I could have carried on for a few more days! A massive thanks to Community Osteopaths for fixing my knee problem and helping me become a stronger more durable runner, which enabled me take on this enormous challenge successfully and enjoy it. I  was at the end of my tether with SI joint, general lower back and buttock pain before finding Laura. Through gentle (and sometimes not so gentle!) manipulation my symptoms eased and I got back to walking and sitting without pain. Laura adopts a holistic approach, tackling areas that you might not think are directly related to the problem you are having and gives you the confidence to know that things are going to get better! I still go to her when I overdo things and it's great knowing she's there when I need her. Lynne D, Edinburgh.

As someone who suffered frequent neck and shoulder pain following a cycling accident I find now, with regular visits to Sarah, I am virtually pain free. This is great news for me and I would thoroughly recommend Sarah - her manner is very reassuring and calm. In fact the visits are (almost) enjoyable! Dorothy, Lawyer and cyclist, North Berwick.

I'm a fit, sporty man in my early sixties, and I have to say that an hour in Laura's hands is as good as it gets.  Laura takes the term 'holistic' to a whole new level.  She looks at the big picture (activity, lifestyle, worries, anxieties etc), and she does it sympathetically and very well indeed.  Then, whilst pummelling me into another shape, with some pain but always an apology, she often engages me in fun conversation, which I occasionally contribute to, when possible.  I always walk away with an immense feeling of having been very well looked after. Ian W, Gullane.

Sarah – knowledgeable, kind, caring, occasionally brutal – but only in a good way! Neil Mc, North Berwick.

You can’t see a pain in your back but you can certainly feel it. Fortunately, regular visits to Sarah and Laura mean I can continue my work as an artist without the niggles, and worse, I have endured in the past. David Henderson – artist, hillwalker, skier, runner.

As a retired person who has lived a very active life and ruined her knees by too much running on roads, skiing on ice and climbing munros I approached my GP for help and went through the long process with the NHS of scanning and x rays and was told that I needed new knees. This seemed a little drastic to me so I decided to try Osteopathy and met Sarah. I have found that the treatment has lessened the pain in my knees and allowed me more movement. I intend to continue the treatment and hope that with Sarah's help new knees will be in the long distant future, hopefully never! Val.
